Pietrasanta can be defined the world capital of marble processing, and over one hundred years the Lodovico Bertoni sculpture workshop has undoubtedly contributed to this activity.

The artistic processing of marble took full effect in the nineteenth century during the neoclassicism era. In those years a special school for the artistic marble processing was established in Pietrasanta which produced hundreds of skilled sculptors.
It was from that school that founder Alessandro Bertoni of the Lodovico Bertoni company, learnt to be a sculptor and craftsman. From his hands he created, always in marble, statues and busts in Carrara marble, fireplaces, columns, furnishings and decorative items.

A passion, a professionalism, a technique and skill that are born very far but also that have been maintained intact by Alessandros' children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Today, in the Lodovico Bertoni laboratory, work continues as in the past to bring out classical and modern scutptures from the precious blocks of marble, furnishing items designed by well-known designers for both interiors and exteriors and all accessories for funerary art.

In the showroom there are dozens of marble fireplaces, marble statues and furnishing items. All made by the hands of our sculptors.
